Valérie Dallaire holds a doctorate in classical piano from the Université de Montréal. She has won several awards in various competitions, including first place at the Concours de musique du Québec in 1998 and 1999, second place at the National Music Competition in 1998, and the Taubman Prize at the National Music Competition in 1999. She has also received several doctoral scholarships, including one from the Fonds FCAR (Fonds pour la formation de chercheurs et l’aide à la recherche). In 2001, she won the Société québécoise de recherche en musique (SQRM) Conference Competition.
Valérie Dallaire’s analysis of Jacques Hétu’s piano works, titled L’œuvre pour piano de Jacques Hétu, was published in March 2005 by Éditions Doberman-Yppan. Since July 2024, she has been the assistant director of UQAM’s École préparatoire de musique. Additionally, since September 2015, she has served as a pianist accompanist for the university’s Department of Music.
