Bingchen He
Bingchen He, 24, was born in Beijing, China, and currently resides in Toronto. He began studying the saxophone at the age of eight, focusing on alto and soprano saxophones. Since 2018, he has been a student of Wallace Halladay, professor at the University of Toronto.
Among his notable achievements are winning first prize at the Qingdao Xiao Jin Zhong competition in 2016, performing at the faculty concert of the International Saxophone Symposium in Hong Kong in 2018, and participating in masterclasses with Arno Bornkamp and Kenneth Tse. In 2019, he attended the Gap Saxophone Summer Camp in France, learning from masters such as Claude Delangle, Vincent David, Christian Wirth, and Mariano García. In 2022, he won the University of Toronto Wind Ensemble competition.
Bingchen He is passionate about exploring a wide range of musical genres, from baroque to contemporary, and strives to express the unique emotional depth of saxophone music.
