Soprano and voice teacher at the Faculty of Music of l’Université de Montréal, Rosemarie Landry has sung on all major Canadian stages, either in recital, concert or opera. She was a guest artist of major orchestras and of numerous opera and chamber music festivals throughout the world and toured extensively with pianist Dalton Baldwin in North and South America, Europe and Asia.
Well known for her expertise of and love for the French repertoire, she is invited to give masterclasses in France, the United States, China, Japan, Israel, Iceland, Poland and Argentina, as well as at the prestigious Juilliard School of Music in New York. She also gives masterclasses regularly at many Canadian universities and opera companies, and teaches in a number of vocal art summer schools and venues such as the International Vocal Art Institute (IVAI) in New York, Virginia and Tel Aviv, Le Centre d’Arts Orford, the Vancouver International Song Institute (VISI) and the Canadian Vocal Art Institute (CVAI/ICAV).
Winning First Prize of the coveted Canadian Broadcasting Corporation Young Artists Competition early on in her career, Rosemarie Landry went on to win numerous other prizes, scholarships, honorary doctorates and distinctions of all sorts. She is a Member of the Order of Canada, Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (France) and Chevalier de l’Ordre de la Pléïade.
