Jackson Howard

British Columbia, 22 years old


Jackson Howard is a Canadian trombonist who has quickly established himself as one of the country’s top emerging musicians. Born in Chilliwack, British Columbia, he studied with Ellen Marple, Gordon Cherry, and Brian Wendel. He began his advanced studies with Gordon Wolfe at the Glenn Gould School in Toronto and continued with Nitzan Haroz and Matthew Vaughn at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia.
 

 

He has given recitals in Ontario and British Columbia, and has performed concertos with the PRISMA Festival Orchestra, the Fraser Valley Symphony, and the Chilliwack Metropolitan Orchestra. 

 

As an orchestral musician, Jackson Howard has performed with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, the Vancouver Opera Orchestra, and the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, where he served as guest principal trombone.
