Manon Lafrance is an internationally renowned trumpeter known for her work as an orchestral musician, soloist, and educator. She studied at the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal, where she graduated with top honours in trumpet and chamber music.
Manon Lafrance has been the principal trumpet in several Quebec orchestras and has toured across Canada, the United States, Europe, and Japan with groups such as the Canadian Brass, the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal, and Les Violons du Roy. She premiered and recorded American composer James Cohn’s concerto for trumpet and orchestra and contributed to over 50 album recordings.
For 25 years, Manon Lafrance taught trumpet at the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal and taught at the Domaine Forget International Music and Dance Academy for over two decades. She became the director of the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal in 2012 and retired in 2024, culminating an extraordinary 45-year tenure. Her career has been featured in international magazines such as The International Trumpet Guild (USA) and The Brass Herald (UK), highlighting her profound impact as both a trumpeter and a teacher.
